This policy explains what pasal.biz collects, why, and the choices you have. pasal.biz is operated by the pasal.biz team in Nepal. If anything here is unclear, write to [email protected].
1. Information you give us
When you create an account we collect your name, phone number, and (optionally) email. If you set up a pasal (shop), we additionally collect your business name, address, category, opening hours, and any photos or product details you upload. When you place an order or send an offer, we record the items, prices, quantities, delivery address, and any messages exchanged with the shopkeeper.
2. Information collected automatically
To make the app work, we collect: device identifiers and Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens (so we can send order updates), approximate or precise location (only when you grant permission, and only to find nearby pasals or set a delivery address), app version and crash logs, and basic usage analytics (which screens you open, which features you use). We do not collect contacts, SMS, photos outside what you explicitly upload, or browsing activity outside pasal.biz.
3. How we use your information
We use the information above to: create and secure your account; show you nearby pasals and relevant products; route orders, offers, and messages between customers and shopkeepers; send order, offer, and conversation notifications; prevent abuse and fraud; debug crashes; and improve search and ranking. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.
4. Who can see what
When you place an order, the shopkeeper sees your name, phone number, delivery address (if applicable), and the items in the order — they need this to fulfill it. Shopkeepers do not see your other orders with other shops. When you list a product as a pasal, customers see your shop name, location, photos, and product details. Direct messages between you and a shopkeeper are visible only to the two of you and to pasal.biz staff investigating reported abuse.
5. Service providers
pasal.biz runs on Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Storage) and uses Typesense for search. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. We do not share your information with marketers, data brokers, or analytics resellers.
6. Data retention
We keep account information for as long as your account is active. Order, offer, and message history is retained so you and the shopkeeper have a record of past transactions. If you delete your account, we remove your profile and personal identifiers; aggregate, anonymized order data may be retained for fraud prevention and reporting.
7. Security
All authentication, order state changes, and payment-relevant logic run on our servers, not your phone. Communication between the app and our servers uses TLS. We follow least-privilege access internally, and only a small number of staff can view production data, and only when needed to operate or support the service.
8. Your choices
You can review and edit your profile and shop information from the app at any time. You can revoke location and notification permissions in your phone settings. To delete your account or request a copy of your data, email [email protected] from the address linked to your account, or open Settings → Delete account in the app.
9. Children
pasal.biz is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date above and notify you in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
